TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS III

This is the third post of mine on TA. I ve told you of the egostates and the various levels of these ego states.
Now to see which level of these ego states are dominant in you, I shall give you a few questions to answer. All that you have to do is to answer them with a YES or NO.
At the end you can tabulate your answers and see whether you are a dominant parent or child and also see your level in each.

The questions are as follows

1. At the time of crisis (family problems) I can control the situation.
2. I like to keep my seniors / parents happy come what may.
3. I see good points (in a person, situation) and talk about them.
4. When I want something I must get it immediately else I feel angry.
5. I always try to find out what happened first
6. I feel insulted if my friends / family members do not obey my instructions exactly in the same manner I would want
7. I enjoy being a good follower
8. I feel confused when my friends or family members express a contrasting opinions or views
9. I enjoy at a picnic.
10. I organize my work and activities very well.
11. I like to work for proper discipline and ensure security.
12. Even if it is not convenient I try to be cooperative.
13. I listen to opinions with interest even when I am not in agreement with them.
14. I get bored very soon.
15. I talk about negative feeling (anger, feeling hurt, insulted) to people who caused them.
16. While saying something I tend to order than tell.
17. I like to follow instructions very clearly and exactly.
18. I leave everything to others (children / subordinates) what work needs to be done and when.
19. I have good imagination
20. I have certain drawbacks but I don’t feel guilty about them.
21. I am very clear as what is exactly good or bad for friends/ subordinates and say so.
22. When I want to decide on something I depend too much on others.
23. I accept people can find his /her own way of growing which may not be the way I suggest.
24. I find it difficult to decide as everything is attractive and exciting.
25. I have eye to eye contact while talking to people.
26. I see negative points immediately and talk about them.
27. I like well regulated and disciplined life.
28. When making suggestions to people I am worried about hurting them.
29. I find a lot of funny things around me.
30. I am a friendly person.



TA III Answer Grid
Mark your answers on to this grid and see where you have more number of yes - On the positive or negative side - This tells of your attitude being +ve or -ve.
See for your Parent attitude - check where you have more number of Yes among the NP&CP +ve and NP&CP -ve thats determines your dominating level as a Parent. Do it simillarly for the Child and you will know your domination level as a Child
If you see same values for both then you are balanced.
This gives you an idea about yourself while you are having a communication with someone else on the dominating attitude of yours.
